We are currently recruiting for a Division Vice President, Human Resources for our East Texas Division in Tyler, TX.

The Division Vice President, Human Resources (VP, HR) will lead all aspects of Human Resources for UT Health East Texas.  The system includes 10 hospitals, 1,100 beds and 6,000 employees.  This position is a key driver of strategic business priorities which include Quality, People, Service, Growth and Financial with an emphasis on People.  Our goal for the strategic priority of People is to attract, engage, develop and retain high performing talent and to achieve the UT Health East Texas mission.  The VP, HR fosters an environment of effective relationships and performance excellence.

The VP, HR will guide and maintain strategic HR business partner relationships at all levels within the organization and will have direct leadership of Human Resources including Employee Engagement, Leadership Development, Employee Relations, and Talent Management. Additionally, this position will have direct input and focus on the implementation and the deployment of strategic people initiatives.

Examples of Responsibilities:

  • Engage executives to understand talent needs of the businesses and define strategy
  • Ensure effective use and implementation of enterprise-wide HR and talent initiatives
  • Serve as the champion for employee engagement and retention
  • Set consistent compensation practices within UT Health East Texas  
  • Build, develop and lead a team of HR professionals within the UT Health East Texas Division
  • As a key team member, serves on both the division executive council and CEO roundtable
  • Drive effective leader and employee communication initiatives
  • Ensure operational excellence, monitoring, and measuring the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership development
  • Coach and develop leaders and teams
  • Uphold all compliance standards, including OFCCP, DNV, CMS, Department of Labor, HR policies and other regulatory requirements

Position Requirements: 
            

Education and Specifications:

  • 15+ years’ experience with increasing levels of HR management
  • At least three (3) years HR experience as the lead HR executive reporting to a division or regional executive in a work environment reflective of the scope & complexity of the UT Health East Texas Division
  • Preferred experience profile includes multiple years as a lead HR executive with division or regional accountability in a healthcare services related organization
  • Experience in a highly-matrixed organization
  • Proven experience delivering on strategic HR Initiatives in wide-scale change initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field 
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred
