We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as the Assistant Vice President, Clinical Outpatient & Informatics

POSITION SUMMARY

The AVP, Clinical Outpatient & Informatics will sit at our corporate office in Nashville, TN and will provide leadership and direction in the design, Implementation and support of outpatient based clinical applications to enable the achievement of success throughout the Ardent enterprise. The position is responsible for managing the operating and strategic budgets for the clinical services and functions, managing resources to ensure appropriate staffing levels are attained to achieve defined objectives, and mitigating risk and issues between the clinical and application teams.  Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the Ardent IT management.  In addition, the AVP OP Clinical Systems & Informatics is responsible for managing an informatics team to ensure adequate and timely support of physicians and other clinical staff as it relates to the Electronic Health Record and associated clinical processes.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Execution

  • Develops and supports the organizational approach for ongoing continuous improvement of technology systems with the VP, Clinical Systems in order to support clinicians with daily practice efficiencies and system adoption.
  • Provides direction to clinical and Informatics teams and works with the Directors of OP Clinical Systems and Informatics to ensure day-to-day operations including staff management, development, budget and policies & procedures are implemented and appropriate. 
  • Quickly understands the business issues and data challenges of the organization and industry.
  • Develops relationships with strategic vendors and constituents to ensure alignment and knowledge of vision and product directions.
  • Identifies the organization’s strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement
  • Coordinates with other IT Teams to ensure consistency and standardization of Ardent OP clinical applications, technology, e-prescribing, patient portal and other supportive applications
  • Appropriately plans for resources and staging of strategic projects to meet the objectives of the annual strategic plan
  • Ensures project delivery teams follow and execute formal delivery methods for project success
  • Participates as a key stakeholder on associated project initiatives and communicates with other stakeholders and project constituents regarding risk, issues and status.
  • Consistently delivers high-quality service to business stakeholders

  • Must live in Nashville, TN. Remote work or a candidate residing outside of Nashville will not be considered.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree (Equivalent business experience will be considered)
  • Master's Degree preferred

Experience

  • Ten years of experience in clinical care or healthcare delivery with EPIC application experience preferred
  • Ten years of experience in a leadership capacity managing managers
  • Subject matter expertise in multiple clinical application modules/solutions with experience in configurations and system setup
  • Proven ability to understand business and clinical issues and objectives as well as the ability to translate them into application solutions and workflow
  • Established manager of multiple large scale large projects of 12+ team members, with experience managing: Resources, Project scope, Issues identification and oversight, Change control processes, Stakeholder communications, and Department budget
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Preferred experience with EPIC Clinical or Ancillary Products
  • Proven ability to manage up to $20MM annual operating budget
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
